Around 15 million people in the country are victims of disabilities, but they are capable in different ways. All of them have to be brought in the mainstream of development. They have to be utilized for country’s development through the blessing of technology, as said Honorable Post, Telecommunication and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar in the closing and prize distribution ceremony of ‘National IT Competition for Youth with Disabilities’ as chief guest. The competition was held on April 21, 2018 at University of Asia Pacific, Dhaka.

He added- We have to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to take the disabled people forward. They have to be given opportunities to progress in their profession. Even, we also need to develop different mobile apps for their support.

Vice Chancellor of University of Asia Pacific Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Mr. Partha Protim Deb, Chairman in the Board of Trustee of University of Asia Pacific Mr. Manjur Ahmed Chowdhury and Executive Director of Center for Services and Information on Disability (CSID) Mr. Khondokar Jahurul Alam were also present in the closing and prize distribution ceremony. Director (Training and Development) of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Mohammad Enamul Kabir delivered the welcome speech in the event.

Total 60 contestants across the country took part in the competition in four categories. All the contestants competed on Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Internet. First three winners from each category were rewarded with cash, crest, Smartphone and certificate.

The program was organized by CSID in association with University of Asia Pacific, whereas Walton Computer and FIFOTECH were the sponsors.
